"The color palette, the importance of composition and symmetry, the unexpected look, the freedom in the exploration of materials: all these elements create an unmistakable harmony in Austin Eddy's works."
Austin Eddy was born in 1986 (Boston) and currently works and lives in New York. In 2009 he graduated from Art Institute of Chicago.
The artist creates autobiographical artworks combining representation and imagination. He uses mixed techniques such as crayons, oils, and papers. His paintings were described as “Picassiani” thanks to their disjointed forms that refer to the Cubism movement. Each of them is the result of the different personal relationships of the artist, whether it is romances or strangers he met at the bar.
Eddy was included in many national and international group exhibitions, among which “Buying Friends” exhibited at Urban Institute of Contemporary Art of Grand Rapids Michigan.
